American Legion Post 667 1112 Steel Rd Havertown, PA 19083

Dear Delaware County Veterans and Community Members,
For the past 18 years, St. Bernadette School in Drexel Hill, PA, has been hosting the Troop Tango event—a heartwarming tradition that benefits our service members and veterans. This event brings together our entire school community in a meaningful way.

What is Troop Tango?
Troop Tango combines dance with a service project dedicated to our veterans. During the months of March and April, students learn various dances in their physical education classes. Simultaneously, they collect donations to support those who have served our nation.
The Generosity of Our Community This year, the St. Bernadette School and its parish community demonstrated remarkable generosity:
Over 2,000 items were donated to benefit our veterans.
Gift cards totaling $900.00 were contributed to provide additional support.
Student Council Leadership
Under the guidance of Mrs. Rose Wallace and Mrs. Lisa Carney, the student council played a crucial role. These young leaders spent weeks collecting and sorting the donated items. Their dedication and compassion exemplify the spirit of service.
Delivery to Veterans On May 1st, 2024, Mr. Frank J. McGovern III, Commander of American Legion Post 667, and Jim Ellis Adjutant, Manoa, Havertown, PA, personally delivered these items to the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Their commitment ensures that our veterans receive the care and support they deserve.

Honoring Mrs. Rose Wallace
We also take this opportunity to acknowledge Mrs. Rose Wallace. Her unwavering dedication to nurturing civic awareness within our school community during the Troop Tango event spans 18 years. As she prepares to retire, we express our deepest gratitude for her service.
A Tradition of Impact For nearly two decades, this event has made a difference in the lives of countless service members and veterans, both locally and globally. The collective spirit of giving from our school and community continues to leave a lasting impact. Thank you for standing with us in this noble cause.
Sincerely, Frank J. McGovern III Commander, American Legion Post 667 Manoa, Havertown, PA

It was a good place. I was here for a graduation party and it was crowded, but it was handled well.
